Music Gear

I have a fairly modest setup for making music, although it's all too easy to sink more money into it all of the time!

Instruments

  • Gibson Epiphone SG-style guitar - not sure of the model or that sort of thing. I bought it years ago in Reading (around 1991/1992) and it's still going fine. Perhaps one day I'll buy a guitar with a trem..
  • Ibanez Roadstar II fretless bass - I'm no expert on the bass but this one suits me fine. No frets so I can get a slinky sound, and a nice low action
  • Yamaha P90 keyboard - a great full size keyboard which feels as good as the 'real thing'. It has a fantasic piano sound
  • Encore ENC44 acoustic guitar - cheap as chips but it does the job
  • Tranquillo Giannini No 6 acoustic guitar - this is my mum's old guitar that she's had for years. It's a bit bashed now but has a great tone
  • Musikalia mandolin - this is a great, lightweight mandolin from Italy

Recording

  • Apple iMac CoreDuo 20" - I use the Mac for all recording, mixing and so on using Logic. It's a step up from my old PowerMac G5
  • M-Audio Firewire 410 - This is a great Firewire audio and MIDI interface with more inputs and ouputs than you can shake a stick at, and top-class A/D convertion
  • M-Audio Nova - I love this condenser microphone. I can't fault it for recording vocals and it's reassuringly heavy
